The CN Tower is a 553m-high (1,815 FT) communications and observation tower, it was completed in 1976, becoming the world tallest structure until 2010.
Last year September I went business trip to Toronto.
I had time to look around the city area on Friday afternoon and all day Saturday.
On Friday afternoon I drove about 10 minutes to Oakville from the Hilton Garden where I stayed in.
Oakville was small town, about 30 minutes south of Toronto, offer nice scenery of Lake ontario
and small shops along 200 yards stretch of the side walk.
Also I walked down to Sixteen Mile Creek that join with lake displayed hundred boats and yachts.
It was wonderful to spend in the nice & sunny afternoon as the whole place was very clean, quiet
and peaceful.
On Saturday morning, very pleasant autumn, it took about 10 minutes to train station parking lot.
The parking lot was huge and easy to find empty spot with free of charge.
There was no ticket counter, only ticket vending machine was available.
When train arrived it appear to be different than American train that I accustomed to,
as I went in the train had upper deck for quiet zone.
The train took me about 25 minutes to down town Toronto and whole time nobody check my ticket.
ROYAL onTARIO MUSEUM is one of Canada's leading museums.
Once in down town I decided to take bus & boat tour of the city that took about 2.5 hours.
The city shown lot of 50 or 60 story glass buildings, relatively clean streets, vibrant and
people occasionally using cell phones.
The city was truly international city as about 40% Asian, 50% foreign-born and
over 25 million tourists & 100,000 immigrants annually.
8.7 million people of population In the vicinity of Toronto represent
about 25% of the population in Canada.
Toronto name originated from American Indian with meaning of
"place where trees stand in the water".
2.6 million in population with approximately same area of Seoul placed in 4th largest
in North America next to Los Angeles and slightly bigger than Chicago.
The University of Toronto has over 47,000 students
(I thought the University of Buffalo was big with 30,000 students)
ROGERS CENTRE where baseball stadium for Toronto Blue Jay.
View of ROGERS CENTRE from CN Tower.
Sunset view from CN Tower.
I didn’t get back till 8 pm and was exhausting with a few hours walking around the city.
When I visit next time, I am not sure when,
it needed to be at least a few days to cover some ground.
