My most interest in stock market goes back to when

I worked for Grumman at East Fishkill IBM.

We had time to take a break now and then.

I was reading newspaper but one section I couldn’t understand

where showing all the stock prices in small print

and some graph showing commodity prices.

I asked my colleague and other people around me

but nobody seem to know or can explain to me well.

So I went to local library and took out a few books.

I was start reading and one book caught my attention that

specifically cover about gold and silver.

It cover so completely about gold and silver that I was so

fascinated about gold mining stocks.

I asked one of the IBM technician who familiar about trading stock

but he only deal with IBM stock.

He refer to discount broker to open the account to trade the stocks.

I bought the 100 shares of Homestake Mining Company, gold mining stock.

As soon as I bought the stock it start to going up in price that

within a few months I ended selling with nice 30 percent profit.

Ever since then I got infatuated with stock market.

I was going to library every week, buying daily newspaper,

watching financial TV,

and following up on a dozen stocks.

For a few years I seem to be never have enough of stock market information

until it wasn’t as easy as it appeared to be.

I still invest half of my retirement saving in stock but

my passion wasn’t intense like first a few years.

It seem to be desensitized over the years to witness about

market dynamic of extreme in 30-40% gain in one year

and could lose 30% another year.

The market taught me over the years that it can be influenced by

interest rate, unemployment rate, and commodity price like oil,

major currencies, GDP growth, government policy, rumor

and perception of investors.

The market seem to be dominated by momentum and

perception of investors in short period

but in long run ruled by fundamental value.
